Mine „KŁODAWA” S.A.

The “Kłodawa” Salt Mine is located in Wielkopolskie Voivodeship, Koło District, near the A2 motorway. Mining operation of this mine began in 1956. The beginning of mining was preceded by exploration of the deposit, the beginning of which dates back to 1937.

The golden age in terms of salt extraction dates back to the 1970s. At that time, the mine produced more than a million tons of salt per year. Salt is extracted in a traditional way, which allows to preserve its natural qualities.

KGHM „Polkowice-Sieroszowice” Salt mine

This plant belongs to KGHM Polska Miedź S. A. Branch Mining Plant “Polkowice-Sieroszowice”

It is located in the south-west of our country. It started its activity in 1968. However, it is not a mine that only extracts salt. There are also deposits of copper and silver. In 2012, the total production amounted to 12 million tonnes by weight. It contained more than 200 thousand tons of copper, 401 tons of silver and salt extraction is more than 330 thousand tons. The extracted salt is sold not only on the domestic market. It is exported to countries such as the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia and Austria. The very good quality of salt has made the mine as well known as the mine in Kłodawa.

ARTEMSOL Salt mine

The largest salt mine in Europe. It has been operating for over 130 years and its resources are estimated for several hundred years of extraction. Every year, the Artemsol Mine extracts more than 7 million tons of salt. Production is exported to many countries and one of the countries that import is Poland.

In our country, road salt from this mine accounts for a large share of the overall consumption of this material. Despite the Ukrainian-Russian conflict, supplies of this raw material seem to be safe. Due to the location of Ukraine, the products of Artemsol mines are most popular in the south of our country. This is also due to the very good quality and constant parameters.

Mine „SOLIGORSK”

The mine is one of the largest in the world. It is located about 100 kilometers from Minsk to the south. The mine includes Belaruskalij potash fertilizer production plants. There are five active mines and four potassium salt enrichment plants.

Over time, the mines have already extracted more than a billion tons of raw material. One of the raw materials extracted from this huge conglomeration of mines is salt, which can be successfully used for winter road maintenance.
